5 reasons why you need a branding session

A branding photoshoot is not your traditional headshots. When you hear “headshots", you probably conjure an image of a paper backdrop, bright lights, and a little reminiscent of picture day at school.

Those are headshots, and to be honest, they are pretty basic.

A branding photoshoot is anything but basic.

Here are the top 5 reasons why you should book a branding shoot:

  1. You are launching a new website. I recommend having custom photography for new websites. If you’re leveling up with a new website, it’s time to ditch the generic stock photos.

  2. You have a public facing job: blogger, realtor, actor, speaker, or author. If you are in a public facing job, you will need multiple looks that tell the story of your brand and who you are as an individual. You may need content images for websites, social media content and messaging, for interviews, book covers, and speaking engagements. You are likely present on a number of platforms that will consistently need good quality images that represent you and your business.

  3. During a rebrand. Are you pivoting your business or niching down? If you’re working with a brand designer or web designer, this is a great time to work together and get new photos.

  4. If you’ve relocated to a new city. You should definitely update your brand photos that reflect your new market – especially if the outdoors plays a part of your business.

Bottom line we are making first impressions online whether it is for our careers or in our personal lives and we want to make good impressions. It is human nature to want to always try to present the best version of ourselves. We do this in-person so why not do it online?
