California is undoubtedly one of the most popular places to elope. Known for its sunny weather and diversity of landscapes, it's a place where you can go from redwoods to coast, from big city to small town all within a matter of hours.
Here's a list of some of the best places to elope in Northern California:
1. North Lake Tahoe
With lakefront views, mountain vistas, and scenic waterfall hikes, it’s no wonder why North Lake Tahoe is one of the most photogenic destinations in the United States!
2. South Lake Tahoe
There isn’t a single inch of Tahoe South that doesn’t provide an opportunity for fantastic photographs.
3. San Francisco
San Francisco is a seriously photogenic city. The Fog is kind of a San Francisco thing, so it’s not really the end of the world if it’s a bit foggy. I like to say it adds to the atmosphere.
4. Point Reyes
From Point Reyes National Seashore to local farms, Point Reyes has always been one of my favorite weekend escapes. The peninsula is home to a wide range of landscapes from ocean cliffs to bays to a valley.
5. Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz County is sandwiched between a dramatic coastline and some stunning coastal mountains. Many people think of the famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk when they think of this area, but it is so much more than that!
6. Big Sur
When it comes to elopement locations in the US, Big Sur is one of the top places people come to get married. With its vast coastal views and redwood forests, it's a place full of wonder and natural beauty.
7. Yosemite
Eloping in Yosemite gives you a massive glacial carved valley lined with epic waterfalls, a powerful river, ancient giant sequoias, and of course, Half Dome. This is the perfect place for adventurers, backpackers, photographers, and elopers!
8. Napa
The Napa Valley's natural beauty coupled with grand wineries, immaculate resorts and foodie hotspots, make for the ultimate photoshoot location.
